~ Introducing the building blocks for success in the dog sport world~

Location – $200, 8 Weeks, TBD

The competitive world of dog sports is built on the same foundations: basic obedience, body awareness, building drive, working through impulse control and most importantly, creating a bond between the human and canine teammates. Whether you want to participate in competitive obedience, rally obedience, agility, scent work, barn hunt, or any of the other dog sports, you will need these foundation skills for success.

This class will provide each human/canine team the foundation skills they need to enter their preferred sport’s foundation class. This class will not be focusing on any one sport, but rather will give each team the groundwork they can then take with them to start learning the specific skills they need for their particular sport.

Skills: body awareness, impulse control, building drive (sending out and calling in), crate games

Prerequisites: Successful completion of a positive reinforcement based manners class, experience with clicker/ event marker training, or approval from the instructor. Dog must be comfortable working around other dogs. The handler should be the same person throughout the entire session.

Covid-19: Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, this class will be limited to 5 students, with only 2 handlers. Handlers will be required to bring their own crate and mat to each class. All handlers will be required to wear masks at all times.
